The Partnachklamm is a 700-metre-long gorge in the Reintal valley near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, cut by the Partnach river to a depth of over 80 meters in places. The valley floor is located at around 800 meters above sea level in the middle of the gorge.
Take the bus (shuttles between Eibsee and Garmisch-Partenkirchen) to the bus stop at the train station in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You can then either take the Garmisch-Partenkirchen local bus (lines 1 and 2) or walk for approx. 25 minutes. There are also beautiful footpaths along the Grainau - Garmisch-Partenkirchen railroad line to the starting point of the ski stadium.
The cog railroad of the Bayerische Zugspitzbahn BZB (commutes between Zugspitze and Garmisch-Partenkirchen) - From the Zugspitze train station, there is a beautiful walk along the Partnachuferweg to the ski stadium.
A special experience is the horse-drawn carriage ride from the ski stadium to Wildenau on a flat road.
Guests of the municipality of Grainau travel free of charge on the bus or cog railroad between Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Grainau with the GuestCard.
From Munich, take the A95 towards Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The highway ends shortly before Garmisch-Partenkirchen and becomes the B2 federal highway. You can reach the Partnachklamm gorge by following the B2 towards Mittenwald (Mittenwalder Straße) and turning right (Wildenauer Straße) at the end of Garmisch towards the ski stadium. After a short time you will reach the Olympic ski stadium, where sufficient parking spaces are available for a fee.
