With ICE and IC/EC trains from all directions there are usually hourly or every two hours comfortable travel possibilities to Munich main station. From here the regional train runs every hour to Garmisch-Partenkirchen with a connection to Untergrainau station. The Bayerische Zugspitzbahn or the white-blue Eibsee-Bus will also take you from Garmisch-Partenkirchen to Grainau. For trains stopping in Munich-Pasing, it is usually cheaper to change trains there.
