Our climate

A holiday in Grainau is simply good for you. This is confirmed, among other things, by the title "state-recognised climatic health resort", which Grainau has held for over 30 years.

The requirement for this is a regularly renewed certificate that certifies that the air and climate are conducive to recreation and health. This also includes the pure drinking water that is extracted in Grainau from a depth of up to 120 metres.

Fresh air and exercise are not only good for your health, they can also be part of a special experience. For example, on a hike along one of the two Grainau terraincure trails. Moderate ascents and natural paths, some of them through dreamy forests, give you the space and air to breathe deeply and feel what it's like to arrive in the here and now and let go of the stress of everyday life.

More than 100 years ago, Father Kneipp convinced the whole of Europe of the positive effects of treading water. Get out of your (mountain) shoes and into the Kneipp pool in Grainau's spa gardens next to the large pond (preheater) - that's certainly what he would have recommended. Even after the first steps, you can clearly feel the invigorating effect of the cold water in summer.
